| GPS-It, for ArcView 8 and 9, is an integrated global positioning system (GPS) interface for real-time mapping. GPS-It provides full GPS receiver control and continuously monitors the quality of GPS signals and sources of differential correction to ensure the accuracy of your GPS positioning. A variety of Trimble and NMEA receivers are supported. Positions are written to an ArcView shapefile, leaving a "bread crumb" trail for centerline creation. The user can switch to navigation mode (no data storage) with a button click. GPS-It also features complete coordinate transformations, with coordinate display chosen by the user. Displayed coordinates can be in lat/long while local coordinates are written to the table. Used with SDR's AddressIt, GPS-It enables "in-the-field" map and addressing update capability. GPS-It also features automatic window centering, with display updating and re-centering whenever the trail symbol reaches any edge of the map view extent. | ![]() |
